I have been greatly influenced by Buddhist teachings and the life story of Siddhartha; otherwise known as the Buddha. Rock Buddha Rock seeks to translate that story into a rock opera format. I have tried to modernize and make real the main characters including the Buddha himself, his disciples known as the Wandering Ascetics, and Buddha’s wife, Yasodhara, who is portrayed as somewhat of a feminist.
